How Is Desert Safari Trip And Camping Looks Like?
Transport
Most desert safari tours start from Cairo in the early morning with a private transfer. The drive to Bahariya Oasis is about 4 hours with rest stop. You will meet with the “Desert Safari Egypt” team and other travellers to have lunch at our ecolodge, “Omar Desert Camp”. The 4X4 vehicles will be loaded up before you arrive and you will be ready to start your Egypt desert adventure.
In shorter trip, 2 days 1 night, we need to drive a lot on the road and see small parts from every sightseeing location and every stop we can only spend short time to catch the sunset in White Desert, the most popular site in western desert of Egypt. However in longer trips, you will be able to spend more time in every stop. Whichever trip you decide on, the sunset in the White Desert will be a great experience.
Food
We prepare and cook fresh food in all our desert safari programs at the campsite and have icebox to keep the food and drinks fresh and cold at all time. Coffee, tea and drinking water are provided throughout our desert safari trips.
In the desert, there are 3 natural springs running since ancient time. These springs are very important as they provide fresh water for shower and cooking in our long desert safari trip.
The camels also like to drink from this clean spring and it is important for the wildlife in the desert.
How you sleep in Desert?
We set up camp every night at different places. We have a small private tent that can fit up to 3 people each. There is also wind break for guest who love to sleep outside under the stars. Clean mattresses, warm blankets, sleeping bag, pillows are provided to the guest as well.
At the end of any program, we will return to our ecolodge, “Omar Desert Camp” in Bahariya Oasis. Upon arrival at ecolodge, guest can have shower to freshen up and enjoy lunch before heading back to Cairo.

Bahariya oasis is a tranquil place, where you can spend some days relaxing, enjoying nature and meet local people to learn about their culture.
It is not so far from Cairo, about 350 km, 4 hours by car. There are lots of hotels you can choose and do what you prefer.

The Most Popular
Black & White Desert Tour
This is the most popular program. Although many travel agencies offer this program, there is a big deference. If you travel with a local experienced agency, you will experience a real desert safari and get to know more about our culture.
We recommend staying as many nights as possible for you to feel and enjoy this unique area.

Discovery
Djara Cave Tour
Djara Cave Tour is the most adventurous program in the western desert of Egypt.
Among the places to visit, Magic Spring and Agapat Off-Road are recommended for those who love stargazing and photography as they are very far from light and noise.
This program also takes you to the Black, and White Desert. Finally, we will return to Bahariya Oasis and Cairo.

Oasis
Siwa & Bahariya Oasis Tour
Siwa Oasis is a lovery little oasis to spend a few relaxing and quiet days enjoying the culture.
Siwa Oasis is the furthest oasis from Cairo. The road connecting Bahariya Oasis and Siwa Oasis has been closed since 2011, but news reports say it will open in October 2022.
If so, we recommend to follow this road from Siwa Oasis to visit Bahariya Oasis and White Desert. It will be the best oasis tour.

Trekking Tour
For our Trekking Tour, we love to design a program with you based on how many hours you can walk in a day. There are many options that we can offer in the sand. Let’s decide together what to do.
For short tour, we recommend starting at Agapat On Road, walking through a small valley to Ain Khadra Spring, White Desert and New White Desert.
And for long trips, it is recommended to spend the night in the Black Desert, drive a pit next day and start walking from the beginning of Agapat Off-Road.
This program is recommended for those who like to walk for long periods of time.

Traditional
Camel Tour
There are two options for Camel Tour. The first is perfect for those interested in camel riding and night camping for short trip.
The Second is for long trips. We start at a place called Per Rigwa, just near the Old White Desert, visit the Old and New White Desert, Ain Khdra, Small Valley, Gazal Valley, Henes Valley, and finish at Agapat On Road.
